You opened your eyes to see a playground for little kids. There were tiny swings and slides. You had remembered it from your past. It was the place where you and Sab had your first play date. You had always been friends with Sab but this was where you realized that you actually liked him. He took your hand and walked you over to the sandbox.
S:This is the place where I fell in love with you.
Y:Yes and you caused me to have to get sand removed from my nose for the next 3 days.
You both laughed. Sab looked into your eyes. He put his hand on your cheek and rubbed it with his thumb. He slowly leaned in. Just then you pushed him into the sandbox.
S:What was that for?
Y:For making me have to get sand removed from my nose. It's more painful than you think.
S:*giggled* Sorry Karmex.
He stood up and kissed your cheek. Then he held your hand and walked you home. While you were walking home you saw Two-k walking with a girl named Sophia. She lived in your neighborhood and was a nice girl. She was also drop dead gorgeous. She was cousins with Sabaidee and once she saw him she ran towards you guys.
Sophia(So):OH MY GOSH!!! Karma you look so pretty!
S:Umm...what about the sexiness over here?
So:Hmm...your not that bad.
Y:Ahaha thanks so much Soph that means alot coming from such a beautiful girl.
So:Aww thanks. Oh yeah you guys know Two-k.
T:Yeah. Hey there locker neighbor!
Y:Hey!
So:Hmm...hand holding? You two are going out?
S:It's not official yet because I havent taken her on a date.
So:Hm..you better hurry up and get that one before she gets snatched up by someone else.
S:I'll try my best Sophie.
Y:Anyways we should all hang out sometime. Maybe go for a bite to eat or something.
T:Sophia your coming to my party right?
S:Totally.
Y:Then we'll see you there.
Your phone rang. It was your mom calling. You anwsered it.
Phone Convo:
YM:Hey sweetheart.
Y:Hey mom.
YM:Where...wh...where are you?
Y:Um...Im like a block away from the house.
YM:Oh...okay.
Y:Mom are you okay?
YM:Yeah...just get home soon okay. Be safe.
Y:Alright. See you in a bit.
You hung up and told everyone that you had to leave.
S:I'll come with you. I wanna see how your mom is doing.
Y:Okay. We'll see you guys later
You hugged them and you and Sab began to walk home. Once you got there your mom was sitting on the couch with a letter in her hand. Tears were streaming down from her eyes. You walked in and sat next to her on the couch.
Y:Mom? What happened?
YM:Your brother...
Y:Erik? What about him?
YM:He...he has been missing from the base for a couple of weeks now. They say that he is missing. He might have been captured by the enemy.
You stared into her eyes. Tears began to run down your face. Erik was your 22 year old brother. He had been in the army for only 2 years now. You missed him like crazy every single day but you didn't know what to do. You and your mom both began to cry. You looked back at Sabaidee. His head was hanging down. You could see that he was hurt. You hugged him and your mom latched on to the both of you.
The next day you woke up to see Sabaidee on your screen. He was smiling as always. You switched to text mode while you got ready for school.
Text Convo:
S:Hey there. How are you feeling?
Y:A little bit better. How could this happen?
S:I don't know. Trust me he is going to be okay.
Y:Yeah...I guess your right. What are you wearing?
S:My black jacket, blue shirt and black hat..you?
Y:I don't know yet..
S:Oh well I'll see you at the bus stop okay?
Y:Okay.
You put your phone down and went to the closet to pick out your clothes. You had already taken a shower and straightened your hair. You found a cute plaid shirt and some black jeans. You put you black jacket over the shirt and walked downstairs and to the bus stop. While you were walking you could see Sabaidee talking to Stephanie. You immediatley panicked. You slowly walked up to them.
S:Yeah...That would be really cool.
SH:Cool so here is my number. Call me sometime.
S:I will be sure to do that.
Y:Hey Sab.
S:Hey. You okay?
Y:Um..yeah I should be. It's just hard you know?
S:I completely understand.
The bus pulled up and you all got on. Sab sat next to you of course but the rest of the way to school he was busy texting someone. You knew it was Stephanie because from time to time she would look back at him and smile and he would smile back. What was going on? Was he actually with her?
